Do you offer digital collections? YES! Currently I offer a lot of flexibility with my products. If you just want prints, then you can buy as few or as many as you’d like. But I know that many of you out there want a CD of all of the images in your gallery. If you select your images for CD, you also have the option to purchase boutique items as well: gallery wrap canvases, enlargements, albums, etc. Please contact me for more information on pricing for digital collections and boutique items.
What is your most popular product? Digital Package #2 – 30 images on a high resolution DVD
Do you have a print order minimum? We do not. We are committed to 100% satisfaction guarantee. We want you to be beyond thrilled with your experience.
When do I book my session? First, we have a chat either by phone or email and you tell me about what you like, what you don’t, what makes you comfortable and what doesn’t. We’ll talk about your favorite type of photography and how you see the photographs that will hang on your walls. Once we’ve got all of that then we will set the date, time and location that will give you the images you want. Half of the session fee can be paid through paypal to hold your requested date. I generally book 1-2 months in advance for weekend sessions. I work on a first come first serve basis and take a limited amount of sessions per month to insure the highest quality for every session.
When do I get to see my photos? After your session your images will be available within 2-3 weeks (usually sooner) to view online via a password protected login. I will also blog about our session and possibly post a sneak peak for you on Facebook unless you request not to.
How do I order prints? Once the gallery is up you are free to order pictures directly from that site. I will provide all the information you need to place the order. If you’d like I will conduct a complimentary ordering session in the comfort of your home in which I can assist you in choosing what the best options are for your space.
How will I get my prints? I ship them straight to your door or arrange to drop them off in person.
Do you have a studio? I work exclusively on location with natural light. Typically a session will take place outdoors within an urban or natural outdoor space or in your own home.
What happens on the day of our shoot? I meet you at our secret spot, whether it be your home, a park, in a field, downtown, the lake or whatever. Everything is relaxed an comfortable and I’ll give you a run down of how I’d like to see the session progress. You can communicate with me any additional ideas or props that you’d like included. Remember we want this process to truly capture this sweet time in your life. It is often the process of taking the photo and looking back upon the adventure that makes the memories last.
What should I wear? I encourage everyone to bring a change of clothes so we can try a few different looks. I love bright colors, vintage, hats and headbands, cute shoes and anything quirky that you love! Sometimes allowing a child to pick out there own wardrobe is fun and is an opportunity to capture their sweet spirit. Ten or twenty years from now you’re going to want to look back and see the child that you remember, not a stiff posed kiddo. But please try to stay away from logos and crazy prints as they can look distracting. Bright colors look fantastic as do very simple dark colors because it highlights the face. Just try and coordinate the whole family so y’all don’t clash!
Do you photograph weddings? YES! Weddings are a huge passion for us at Life is Sweet. Your wedding day is one of the sweetest moments in your life and we’d love to be there to capture it. We have custom packages that will fit your unique needs. Please inquire for details.
Do you travel to accommodate sessions in other cities? Yes. I love to travel! Please note that travel fare and lodging is added to the cost of your session. If you live in another state and can get a few families to book together over the course of a few days that extra fee can be spread out amongst you. Sometimes you can talk me into a weekend down at the coast because–really–I can’t resist taking gorgeous beachy pics and smelling the ocean air.
When is the best time for a maternity session? Whenever you feel the most comfortable and beautiful. Usually around 30-32 weeks when you have a nice sized belly and are still comfortable and able to move about somewhat freely. Maternity sessions are complimentary when a Sweet Baby’s First Year Package is purchased.
When is the best time for a newborn session? Within the first 5-10 days of life. Your baby is still in the recovery stage, less prone to be startled when being moved, and most likely has not developed baby acne at that point. They can be done after this time frame but the chances of curly sleepy tiny baby poses is much less likely after 10 days. Newborn shoots can last between 2-5 hours. I like to take my time and work around the baby’s sleep and feeding schedule. A newborn shoot takes a fair amount of patience and I will stay as long as it takes to get you those wow shots. Before I arrive at you house please make the room very warm (yes, we will be sweating but it will be worth it!). Please loosen the baby’s diaper if we plan on doing any naked shots so as to reduce the diaper lines on the skin. I’ll also ask for you to feed the baby right before or as soon as I get there. I will bring a white noise machine and lots of props to create beautiful timeless images to capture this sweet, sweet time in your life. I try to make this as relaxing as possible for both the baby and the mommy. Babies will tend to settle down quicker if I’m adjusting and posing them while mom sits back and relaxes.
