It was a Saturday morning around 8:30 am and I got the call that this beautiful mama to be had her water break 3 weeks before her due date. Since this was her first baby, we played it by ear and she continued to call me through the day to give me updates. When we talked at 2:30pm, she was still only dilated to 3cm, so we both thought that it would be a good while before that sweet baby boy would make his appearance, but little did we know that he had different plans! At 3:30, I got a call saying she progressed to 7cm and I jumped in my car and starting racing to the hospital. I knew that if she went from 3 to 7 in under an hour, he was coming quick! By the time I got to the hospital she was pushing and he arrive just 15 minutes later! Phew. Close one! It was a beautiful delivery. Mama did an amazing job. When sweet Talon Michael was born he took a few minutes to start crying so lots of people raced in the room. But the whole time they were giving updates, saying “he is pink” “he is breathing on his own”…..he just didn’t want to cry! Sweet, mellow little guy! The hospital staff were so wonderful and I couldn’t believe the size of the suite they got for their recovery room….it had a mini bar, couch, 2 tv’s. I had major hospital room envy!
These two are going to be wonderful parents. It was so beautiful to see both their families come together and celebrate this new life and the first grandchild on both sides. I have a feeling this little guy is going to be showered with lots and lots of grandparent love. Lucky guy!
Congrats Duplantis family! I’m honored that you choose me to document this once in a lifetime moment for you guys. I hope you enjoy these memories as much as I have enjoyed capturing them for you. Lots of love, Tara
